From the strategy of “a sleeping policeman” to “together into the future”- integration of the poultry industry in the south-east of Poland
At the beautiful ARŁAMÓW Hotel**** in the Bieszczady mountains Res-Drob gathered companies, institutions, people associated with the poultry industry – farmers, manufacturers of feed and equipment, veterinary inspectors and the scientific community. The processors were represented by Res-Drob, who was the host of the event. The occasion was the 65th anniversary celebration of Res-Drob and the whole poultry community from the SubCarpathian region.
On September 30th, in the hotel’s conference room various professionals from the fields of: economy, science, finance; local authorities and those associated with the poultry industry gathered to take part in our conference. The conference entitled “Poultry development – the key to succeed” was an opportunity to listen to and discuss topics associated with the current market challenges.
Speakers undertook topics that were particularly important for the large audience (mainly businessmen and poultry farmers), such as the situation on the EU market of poultry meat, how to avoid health risks in the construction of poultry farms, efficient and effective models of cooperation between all participants of the supply chain, forecasts for the poultry industry and possibilities of investment support – presentation from the banking sector. Prospects for companies associated with this area of the economy and the opportunities that modern poultry farming brings were discussed by Cargill Director – Wieslaw Ilkow – the main conference Partner. Among the conclusions that emerged from the conference, the most important was the need for the rapid expansion of the SubCarpathian resource base and more decisive introduction of innovative, technological and organizational solutions, including modern models of cooperation between participants.
The future is promising, but the demands in the global food economy are growing. What yesterday was sufficient enough, and even a satisfactory standard, today needs to be improved and modernized. Poultry farming, feeding, treatment, transportation and processing must now work together like the fingers of one hand. If we all do not understand this on time we will loss out chance and others will be ahead of us – saidMarek Jurkiewicz, President of Res-Drob and conference organizer. The whole supply chain must be strong, modern and at global level. We will discuss how to accomplish this during the event – adds M. Jurkiewicz.
The evening Anniversary Ball was attended by approximately 400 participants (including those who are just planning to make investments in this direction) and all conference attendees. During the Ball, leaders among suppliers were awarded with statuettes for “long-term cooperation, regularity of supply and the commitment to promote the Res-Drob brand”. The ceremony was an opportunity to celebrate successful results and the development of the poultry industry.
